Affirming the spiritual gifts and calling in all people of God's creation, Bruington ordains both women and men to all aspects of Christian ministry and service. Since 1790, twenty-one ministers of the Gospel have been ordained at Bruington and four of those: Dr. Robert Baylor Semple, Dr. Richard H. Bagby, Dr. B. Cabell Hening and Rev. Ellen Gwathmey, served as pastors of the church.
Bruington Baptist Church affirms that all Christian believers are ministers of the Gospel (priesthood of the believer). As such, all members of Bruington's fellowship are ministers and are called to a life of mission and service to God's world. To help facilitate the work and mission of the church, Bruington called co-pastors Rev. Michelle Kimlick and Rev. Brent Kimlick in June of 2006.
